Grand Marnier has agreed a deal with the United States Tennis Association (USTA) to become an official sponsor of the Olympus US Open Series.
The liqueur brand will also sponsor seven US Open Series events: the Atlanta Tennis Championships; Farmers Classic; Bank of the West Classic; Mercury Insurance Open; Western & Southern Financial Group Masters & Women’s Open; and Pilot Pen Tennis.
The sponsorship will support Grand Marnier in its launch of two new signature cocktails –The Grand Smash and The Grand Cran –and will establish an ongoing relationship with tennis at all levels. Grand Marnier will have a branded tent at each US Open Series sponsored event, where it will serve its new drinks in co-branded red tennis ball souvenir cups.
“The USTA is excited to add Grand Marnier to our list of Olympus US Open Series sponsors,” said Harlan Stone, chief business and marketing officer for the USTA. “Grand Marnier’s commitment to the Olympus US Open Series further endorses the appeal of the series as an effective marketing platform for companies in virtually any and all business categories.”
Now in its seventh season, the Olympus US Open Series links 10 summer tournaments to the US Open. In 2008, Olympus became the first title sponsor of the series, which is also backed by American Express, Evian and SPDR Gold Shares.
