Bridgestone’s partnership with the National Football League (NFL) will run for the next five years after the two parties restructured an existing agreement.
As the official tyre of the NFL, Bridgestone will continue to receive exposure at League games until 2015, extending an existing three-year partnership that was signed earlier this year.
Bridgestone has been a partner of the NFL since 2007, and will retain the title sponsorship of the Super Bowl Half-Time Show, which features music acts and light displays on the pitch during the sport’s showpiece game.
“Having this relationship with the NFL has already proven to be a tremendous asset in elevating the Bridgestone brand’s consumer awareness and visibility,” said John Baratta, president of the replacement tyre sales division for the United States and Canada.
“Continuing this sponsorship is a key component of our sports marketing strategy and an incredible opportunity for us to reach a highly influential audience of sports fans.”
In May, Bridgestone agreed a five-year extension to its partnership with the National Hockey League (NHL), NHL Players' Association and the Hockey Hall of Fame, while its Firestone brand is the official tyre of Major League Baseball and the Indianapolis 500.
