Derby County chief executive Tom Glick has been elected to the Football League board, replacing Blackpool’s Karl Oyston who stood down after his team’s promotion to the Premier League.
Glick was elected by 17 votes to 5, beating Leeds United chief executive Shaun Harvey. Glick becomes the first American on the board in the Football League’s 122-year history.
Glick was brought in as chief executive and club president following a takeover of Derby by the Michigan-based General Sports and Entertainment Group.
