Portsmouth has been ordered to pay more than £100,000 to nine former staff members following an employment tribunal.
Troubled Portsmouth made 85 employees redundant in March after becoming the first club in Premier League history to go into administration with debts exceeding £120m.
Judge Richard Byrne upheld all nine claims of unfair dismissal at a hearing in Southampton and declared the club must pay compensation ranging between £3,941 and £29,538.
The ex-employees were also awarded ‘protective awards’ – a payment of 90 days’ wages because the club did not allow a 30-day consultation period before dismissing them.
