Delhi 2010 chairman Suresh Kalmadi has moved to distance the organising committee from allegations of corruption centred around Games-related projects.
Media reports have claimed that suspected financial irregularities have been uncovered but Kalmadi hit back: "We have nothing to hide. There is total transparency in the organising committee and we have a clear conscience.”
He added that the committee had followed guidelines for all works undertaken for the Games.
"I totally deny the allegations – every pie is accounted for,” Kalmadi continued. “We are hurt by this. At least the media should have come and talked to us. We would have told them what was right and what was wrong.
"If we were found guilty, they could have gone ahead and showed it. We would not have minded."
