Fifa is thought to be looking into reports that North Korea’s World Cup squad received a government reprimand following the country’s exit from the World Cup.
Radio Free Asia reported last week that coach Kim Jong-Hun and most of his squad were summoned to the People’s Palace of Culture in the capital Pyongyang on July 2, where they were criticised for their “betrayal” of Kim Jong-un – the son of North Korea’s leader Kim Jong-il.
Kim Jong-Hun was apparently made to work on a Pyongyang building site and expelled from the Workers' Party of Korea after North Korea was thrashed 7-0 by Portugal in South Africa.
Fifa famously comes down hard on any government interference in football and is reportedly investigating the claims.
