The National Football League (NFL) is thought to be in discussions about using chip-in-ball technology to help with contentious calls.
Sales director of German manufacturer Cairos Technologies, Mario Hanus, told Reuters: "Yes, we are talking. There is a demand in American Football.”
The NFL would not confirm or deny the talks, although a spokesman for the league admitted it was looking to expand its use of technology.
"We are always exploring ways in which we can be innovative with technology to improve our game and our fans’ enjoyment of the game," Michael Signora said.
