Adidas has posted a hike in quarterly profits thanks to a sales boost from the World Cup.
The German sportswear giant reported a net profit of 126m Euros for the April to June quarter compared with 9m Euros a year earlier. Sales were up 13 per cent for the period.
The company made kits for several World Cup teams, including winners Spain, and also provided the official Jabulani match ball.
"The energy we are creating in the market this year will be an important catalyst in propelling our group to new heights," said chief executive Herbert Hainer.
