The chief executive of the Holland-Belgium 2018 World Cup bid has promised an even better event than this summer’s tournament in South Africa.
A Fifa inspection team led by Chilean FA president Harold Mayne-Nicholls will start its four-day evaluation of the joint bid in Brussels today (August 9).
Holland-Belgium chief executive Harry Been said: "[South Africa 2010] was a wonderful, well-organised football tournament that brought joy and excitement to football fans in stadiums and at home in front of their televisions around the world.
"A World Cup hosted in Belgium and the Netherlands in either 2018 or 2022 would be just as great, if not better. It’s up to us now to demonstrate this to the Fifa delegation."
