Youth Games architect awarded Singapore's highest civilian honour 09/08/2010

Ng Ser Miang, a vice-president of the International Olympic Committee and chairman of the organising committee of the inaugural Youth Olympic Games (YOG), is to receive Singapore's highest civilian honour.
Ng, who is a former president of the Singapore Sailing Federation, is one of eight Meritorious Service Medal winners in recognition of his leading role in bringing the YOG to Singapore.
He will receive his award at a special ceremony today (August 9) to mark Singapore's National Day, in commemoration of the country's independence.
The YOG are due to begin on Saturday (August 14) and will feature 3,600 athletes from 205 countries.
