The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) has chosen the city of Kavarna in Bulgaria as host for the 2012 edition of the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships.
Situated on the Black Sea coast, Kavarna is a major tourist resort attracting more than 500,000 people a year.
The race course has already been designed and will consist of four loops of 5km plus 1 loop of 1.0975km, offering a flat and fast course in the heart of the city.
