Financial services giant Allianz has been unveiled as the latest partner of Munich’s bid to host the 2018 Winter Olympics.
Allianz is headquartered in Munich and head of group market management Joseph K. Gross said: "It would be wonderful if we could bring the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games to the hometown of our company and with our expertise as one of the largest financial companies in the world, we are happy to be able to support the bid as a 'knowledge partner'."
Allianz joins a group of sponsors that already includes Adidas, BMW and Lufthansa.
Willy Bogner, chief executive of Munich 2018, added: "The addition of Allianz as a new partner will unite some of the biggest German companies in the world in their support of Munich 2018, showing the power of the bid to host the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.”
