Nicolas Leoz, president of the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL), has been awarded the National Order of Merit by the Paraguayan Government.
Leoz was chosen for the honour "in recognition of his invaluable contribution to Paraguayan football".
He said: "I have received many awards and give them all a high value. This one reaches the depths of my being because it comes from the Chamber of Deputies, which is the genuine representation of the people of my country. I am deeply touched.”
