Bidders interested in taking over the Olympic Stadium after the 2012 Games will be told this week that they must submit fully costed and financed plans by the end of September.
The Olympic Park Legacy Company has received 150 expressions of interest in the venue and now wants to see firm proposals from those individuals and companies keen to convert the stadium and then run it on a 99-year lease.
West Ham Football Club and AEG, which owns The O2 arena, are two of the frontrunners – and a joint bid between the two is now one option being considered, according to the BBC.
One or two preferred bidders for the stadium will be chosen in the autumn before a final decision is made before Christmas. It could then take until next March to complete a deal.
