The Premier League will discuss whether to take action against Sir Alex Ferguson after the Manchester United manager continued his boycott of the BBC.
Ferguson has refused to give the corporation post-match interviews since 2004 after Panorama made allegations against his son Jason, who was working as an agent at the time.
There had been suggestions that Sir Alex was ready to relax his stance amid pressure from the Premier League and League Managers' Association but he once again chose not to speak to the BBC after his side’s 2-2 draw against Fulham on Sunday (August 22).
The Premier League said in a statement: "We are disappointed that the BBC and Manchester United have, as yet, been unable to resolve the issue of Sir Alex Ferguson providing post-match interviews.
"We will, of course, continue to monitor the situation and offer any help deemed necessary by either party to try and help remedy the situation.
"However, this is a breach of Premier League rules and the board will consider the appropriate course of action at their next meeting scheduled for late September."
