Chepstow has been forced to switch its Bank Holiday Monday race meeting to Bath.
Officials at the Welsh venue called off last week’s meeting as clerk of the course Keith Ottesen was not happy with some areas of the track. Experts have since diagnosed an outbreak of root gall nematodes.
"We don't think the track will be ready for racing next week and we're not going to take a chance having not yet eradicated the problem," said Ottesen.
"The meeting will be transferred to Bath Racecourse on the same day and we're just working on the details of that now.
"We've got more meetings to have with the scientists involved who actually know about this problem before we continue the work that needs to be done."
