ESPN is thought to be lining up Ross Hair to replace Lynne Frank as head of its operations in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
The Independent newspaper claims that Hair will join from Sony Pictures Television. His appointment would bring to an end a five-month search to replace Frank, who launched ESPN in the UK.
Hair was most recently executive vice-president of international networks for Sony Pictures Television in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
He has previously worked at ESPN at the group's Star Sports business in Singapore. Before that he spent five years at Nickelodeon in the UK, joining from BSkyB.
It is not clear when Hair will start his new job but until then, the businesses will be overseen by Russell Wolff, executive vice-president of ESPN International.
Frank left the Disney-owned group in April to return to the US after 17 years in London.
