The Football Association of Wales (FAW) has launched a new hospitality club called 1876 to promote its hospitality programme at all home international matches, including the Euro 2012 qualifiers against England, Switzerland, Bulgaria and Montenegro.
1876 – named after the year the FAW was founded – will offer the best tickets and facilities, and high-quality food and drink, as well as an opportunity to meet famous faces from Welsh football down years.
The FAW is the third oldest national football association and chief executive Jonathan Ford said: “1876 club hospitality offers a great opportunity for Welsh companies, businessmen and Wales football fans to become more involved with Wales football.
“We are determined to provide a high-quality product and at the same time generate some income for the FAW.”
FAW has appointed hospitality specialist Cavendish to co-ordinate and manage 1876.
Cavendish chief executive Chris Bruton said: “We are extremely proud to be involved with this new FAW initiative. We are confident we will provide a quality product and value for money that will match any other event on the hospitality circuit.”
The FAW is looking to appoint a number of official hospitality agencies to market and sell 1876 club hospitality.
