The International Tennis Federation (ITF) has announced that BNP Paribas has agreed to continue its title sponsorship of Davis Cup and Fed Cup for an additional five-year period from 2012 until 2016.
The agreement also includes sponsorship of Junior Davis Cup, Junior Fed Cup, ITF wheelchair tennis activities, and the bi-annual Worldwide Coaches’ Conference and regional coaches’ workshops.
The announcement was made in Lyon at the 2010 Davis Cup semi-final between France and Argentina.
BNP Paribas joined the Davis Cup family of sponsors in 2001, taking over as title sponsor of the competition in 2002. The bank also became a sponsor of Junior Davis Cup in 2002. In 2005, BNP Paribas signed up as the title sponsor of Fed Cup and linked up with the Junior Fed Cup a year later.
“BNP Paribas is an outstanding partner for the ITF’s international team competitions,” said ITF president Francesco Ricci Bitti.
“As one of the world’s largest banks, with a network in over 80 countries, it is a perfect fit for both Davis Cup and Fed Cup with its global reach.
“Added to this is BNP Paribas’s love of and commitment to tennis around the world, which is a responsibility that we at the ITF are proud to share with them. We look forward to a long and successful relationship with BNP Paribas, now until at least 2016.”
