The Football Association of Wales stated that the position national team manager is to be advertised. A spokesman for the FAW explained that all names circulating the media remain speculations until the football governing body announces the start of the search for new manager.
John Toshack had his contract terminated by mutual consent earlier this month after Wales began the Euro 2012 qualifications losing against Montenegro. Brian Flynn was appointed interim manager for Wales' forthcoming Euro 2012 games against Bulgaria and Switzerland. The latter is also among the potential applicants for the full-time job. Other candidates are Ryan Giggs, Martin O'Neill and Chris Coleman. However, former England boss Terry Venables is considered to have biggest chances to succeed Toshack. The 67-year old expressed interest in the job and expects the Football Association of Wales to initiate the hiring procedure.
