MP & Silva has opened new offices in London and Munich as part of the group’s expansion in western and central Europe.
The move bolsters MP & Silva’s international network to 12 offices across the globe and ensures the agency has a presence in three of the ‘Big Five’ European television markets, ahead of the anticipated recovery of Europe’s television advertising industry.
The London office will become the agency’s main European headquarters, with group chief executive Andrea Radrizzani leading operations.
Miriam Sherlock, who joins MP & Silva as the group’s new head of strategic partnerships, will look after all commercial activities across the United Kingdom, including the recently signed joint venture with Arsenal Football Club.
Peter Leible – who until now served as MP & Silva’s managing director of Asia-Pacific – has relocated back to his native Germany, and assumes the newly created role of
chief representative for Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
Leible will be based in Munich and will be responsible for commercial activities across the three German-speaking territories.
“We have been waiting for the right time to strengthen our footprint in Europe,” said Radrizzani.
“We are cautiously positive about the future for European television, with digital TV building up strong momentum over the last three quarters and with ever more Pay DTT [Digital Terrestrial], IPTV [Internet Protocol], satellite and channel operators joining the fray and driving robust demand for sports programming.
“We believe our new operations will enable us to capitalise on the upturn in all of the key European television markets, led by the UK in the lead up to the London 2012 Olympics.”
