The National Basketball Association (NBA) and Canal+ teamed up to deliver the first-ever live international NBA game in 3D on Thursday (October 7).
Two-time defending NBA champions the Los Angeles Lakers took on Euroleague champions FC Barcelona at the Palau Sant Jordi Arena as part of NBA Europe Live.
The live 3D broadcast was available for fans to view on the Canal+ 3D channel and to all Canal+ customers that have the iPlus terminal and a television equipped for viewing 3D.
Senior vice-president of NBA Europe Sophie Goldschmidt said before the game: “We are excited to work with long-time television partner Canal+ to provide fans throughout Spain with a new way to experience the excitement of our game.
“This international 3D broadcast continues with our groundbreaking NBA events in 3D and will offer a courtside seat for all fans to watch two defending champions.”
