LG is the Formula 1 sponsor that has most increased its exposure over the last year, according to a new survey.
Margaux Matrix, the brand exposure measurement company, looked at the comparative exposures for the top 10 brands so far in the 2010 championship and compared them to those in 2009. The comparison is based on data up for 13 events in 2009 versus 13 events in 2010.
LG was the runaway winner in 2010 with a massive increase in exposure due to its prominence as an F1 partner and its association with Red Bull Racing.
Red Bull itself has also improved its exposure after a strong year on the track.
Margaux Matrix points out that in 2009, races were being won by a largely unbranded team in Brawn GP and Ferrari, which carried relatively few brands as sponsors.
“There are lots of reasons why things change year on year and Margaux Matrix’s data is capable of really detailed interrogation as it has been gathered consistently for five years so clients can make decisions about what works and what doesn’t, with some
solid supporting evidence,” said Margaux Matrix’s James Gibson.
The top five brands in 2010 were LG, Red Bull, Bridgestone, Vodafone and Santander, while the top five in 2009 were ING, LG, Red Bull, Bridgestone and Vodafone.
