The Rajasthan Royals franchise has filed an appeal in the Bombay High Court against the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) decision to terminate its Indian Premier League (IPL) contract.
The BCCI's decision to end the franchise's IPL affiliation was taken on October 10, on charges of ownership irregularities that threatened to "shake the very foundation of the tender process". The Kings XI Punjab's IPL franchise also had its contract terminated on the same day.
"We have tried to meet with the BCCI to understand the basis for the termination, which was received without notice," a Royals statement said.
"We do not understand what we have done wrong, and it is therefore our duty to the fans of the IPL, our employees, our players and our partners to pursue the matter."
