Sheffield Wednesday is on the brink of administration with a High Court winding-up hearing scheduled for Wednesday (November 17).
The club must find £600,000 for a PAYE bill but none of its three potential investors appears likely to pay it. The Co-operative Bank is owed the bulk of Wednesday’s £25m debt, secured against its Hillsborough ground.
The club is due back in court next month over a £300,000 VAT bill.
