United States Olympic Committee (USOC) chairman Larry Probst has revealed that several American cities are interested in hosting the 2022 Winter Olympic Games – but that a new US bid must wait until officials rebuild relationships with their international counterparts.
Probst did not identify the cities but admitted that the USOC was still a long way from putting another bid together because it needs to first improve its presence internationally and resolve differences with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) over revenue sharing.
"We have to build more, better, and stronger relationships with people within the Olympic movement before it would be realistic for us to bid again," Probst told the Associated Press.
The 2022 Winter Games will be awarded by the IOC in 2015.
