New world fencing champion Maureen Nisima has become the latest athlete to back Annecy’s bid to host the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
Nisima, who won her first individual world Epée title in Paris last week, said: "The chance to take part in international competitions in France is a tremendous opportunity in any French athlete's career.
"Winning this gold medal at the Grand Palais in Paris, with the entire public behind me, was truly exceptional.
"Having gone through such an experience, I can only wish the same for every French athlete – winning an international competition in front of their home crowd and in such a magical setting.
"That's why I've decided to add my support to Annecy 2018 – a bid which has all it takes for unique Olympic and Paralympic Games, where sportswomen and men from France and across the world will be able to demonstrate their talents to the full."
