The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) has agreed a two-year broadcasting deal covering Norway.
IEC in Sports – the IAAF's exclusive media rights agency for Europe and Africa – concluded the negotiations with NRK in Monte Carlo at the weekend.
The deal covers the period 2011 to 2013.
IAAF present Lamine Diack said: "The Nordic countries are one of the traditional heartlands of our sport so to have concluded a Norwegian deal is excellent news which will help secure the continued popularity and prosperity of athletics in the area.
"This agreement includes very strong broadcast guarantees for IAAF events on NRK terrestrial channels, which is further good news for the sport of athletics."
NRK is the public broadcaster and EBU member in Norway and had been a broadcast partner of the IAAF until 2009, through the contract which the IAAF had with the EBU for European media rights.
