Land Rover has signed a deal with the International Rugby Board that sees it become an official sponsor of the Rugby World Cup 2011 in New Zealand and a worldwide partner of the 2015 tournament in England.
The announcement marks a major development of the British brand’s involvement with the sport and will include significant investment in programmes aimed at developing young rugby talent both at grassroots and world-class levels.
Land Rover has sponsored the last three British & Irish Lions tours to Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, and is also the official vehicle of England Rugby and Premiership Rugby.
It is also a sponsor of the Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens tournament in December which kicks off the 2010/2011 HSBC Sevens World Series competition.
