Netball New Zealand (NNZ) has announced a new four-year broadcasting partnership with SKY – the largest commercial deal to be signed by a women’s sport in New Zealand.
International and domestic netball will now be shown exclusively live on SKY Sport until 2015.
The deal extends netball’s relationship with SKY, which already broadcasts the ANZ Championship, Lion Foundation Netball Champs and College Netball.
NNZ has also reviewed its free-to-air television partnership and has revealed that Prime Television will be netball’s new free-to-air partner.
NNZ chief executive Raelene Castle said: “This is an exciting step for Netball New Zealand and we are thrilled with the opportunity to partner with SKY and Prime, which will provide many new opportunities and flexibility in scheduling across a variety of our netball events.
“NNZ took a very considered approach in this decision, and the combination of SKY and free-to-air partner Prime TV offers fans the best option for both live and delayed coverage.”
