Asian Games Prepare Singapore For 2010 Youth Games 25/06/2008 |

It has been announced that Singapore is hosting the inaugural Asian Youth Games July 2-9, 2009 which will help prepare the city when it hosts the inaugural Youth Olympic Games August 14-26, 2010.
On Monday it was confirmed the Games will feature eight sports – track and field, bowling, beach volleyball, three-on-three basketball, sailing shooting, swimming and diving, and table tennis.
The Singapore Sports Council (SSC) and Ministry of Education will spearhead the organization of the Asian Games.
Hosting the Asian Youth Games was part of Singapore’s bid plan submitted to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) when it was bidding to stage the Youth Olympics, reports Channel News Asia.
