Leading event security and crowd management company Showsec International is to be the official security partner for the annual Sports Event Management Conference (SEM), SportBusiness Sports Event Management Awards and Sports Security Summit (SSS) for the next three years.
The agreement begins with the 2008 events, at the Novotel, St Pancras on 12th and 13th November, and continues a relationship which dates back to the inaugural International Sports Security Summit in 2004.
Under the agreement Showsec will provide its highly trained security staff at the events.
Showsec has become one of the most experienced and highly respected operators in its sector. For 25 years the company has provided specialist event security and crowd management for sports events ranging from the 2002 Commonwealth Games to the 2008 UEFA Cup Final. In addition to one-off events, the company is retained to provide stadium security and safety services by a number of major football clubs for soccer matches and other events including rock concerts.
Mark Harding, Managing Director of Showsec said: “The Sports Event Management Conference and Sports Security Summit provide an excellent forum for sharing information and ideas with the leading sports event professionals from around the world. With the ever-changing dynamics and challenges facing the security and crowd management sector we once again look forward to participating in this year’s conferences and in the years to come.”
Andy Clark of organisers Rushmans said: “Showsec have provided a fantastic service to our previous conferences as an official supplier so we are delighted that they are committing to the next three years as a full partner to our events. We hope they will continue to benefit from the new business opportunities at our show. They will continue to ensure the security and safety of our delegates via stringent screening procedures. They are true innovators in the security management industry.”
Now in its third year, Sports Event Management is established as the major annual meeting for local organising committees and event owners. It exists to help you understand and succeed in the business of major sports events and delivers new perspectives and fresh thinking from the people who make the world’s biggest events happen.
The fifth Sports Security Summit attracts the decision makers in Olympic and major event security. The cornerstone of every event, security remains at the top of the agenda as we bring together the leaders of intelligence and security services, event owners, local organising committees, local and national government for a unique knowledge sharing opportunity.
The SportBusiness Sports Event Management Awards, designed to recognise excellence in the planning and delivery of sport events around the world, are the networking centrepiece of the conferences to be held at the Novotel, London. The deadline for entries is 8th September 2008.
