Total Sports Asia brings World Cup 2010 to Asia
 12/09/2008

Total Sports Asia (TSA), the leading independent sports marketing specialist in Asia, has successfully secured the media marketing rights to the FIFA 2010 World Cup qualifying matches of the National football teams of Italy and Spain, further boosting their impressive portfolio of properties for media distribution in Asia.

Newly crowned Champions of Europe, Spain, will stride into their World Cup Qualifying campaign, which has just kicked off, with renewed confidence. La Furia Roja is drawn into a challenging Group 5 of the European continental Qualifying competition.

Reigning World Champions, Italy have also just begun their title defence. Marcello Lippi returns as head coach for The Azzurri, whom he led to their historic fourth Championship in 2006. The move is viewed as a key factor in helping Italy retain their title.

TSA is offering ten World Cup Qualifying and all Friendly matches played at home in the campaigns of the Italians and Spanish National Teams leading up to the FIFA World Cup 2010 in South Africa.

TSA will market all media rights for these games exclusively throughout Asia (except in Hong Kong and Japan for the Italian matches).

The deal was struck between TSA and Santa Monica for the Spain national team matches and RAI Trade for Italy.

These two deals, confirms TSA’s reputation as the agency that offers the best World Cup football to their clients after also having distributed the 2010 World Cup Qualifiers to five time World Cup Winner, Brazil on behalf of Traffic Marketing.

TSA’s Senior VP of Media, Julian Jackson, said: “We are delighted to be working with two great partners in Santa Monica and Rai Trade again and we have already had unprecedented interest from clients around Asia. With Spain winning a truly memorable Euro 2008, and Italy being the current World Champions, there is no better international football anywhere else in the world. Asian fans will be anxious to see how they both fare in what promises to be a drama filled qualifying campaign for both countries”

“We will do everything that we can to ensure that no fan in Asia will be left without a chance to watch the two best teams in the world in action,” Jackson added.
