Prensa Latina reports Venezuela announced it will ratify its application for the 2015 Pan American Games and submit it to the Assembly of the Pan American Sports Organization being held in Acapulco Mexico October 9 to 11.
Eduardo Alvarez, President of the Venezuelan Olympic Committee, said Venezuela's bid has the support of 10 of the 42 nations voting on the 2015 bid, including Argentina, Cuba and Aruba.
Alvarez told the Venezuelan ABN news agency that President Hugo Chavez has endorsed a 2015 Pan Am bid but the Minister of Sports still has to grant financial support.
He added that a bid leader has not yet been selected.
