MTG win UEFA media deal
 06/10/2008

UEFA has concluded a media rights deal for the 2009-12 UEFA Champions League in Scandinavia with its current broadcast partner Modern Times Group (MTG). MTG will enjoy exclusivity throughout Denmark, Norway and Sweden ensuring extensive free-to-air exposure and the availability of all UEFA Champions League matches on its pay platforms.

Live and highlights
In Denmark and Norway, free-to-air channels TV3+ and Viasat 4 will show the first choice live game on each matchnight as well as highlights on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Swedish football fans will be able to watch one fixture per matchweek (including the UEFA Champions League final) and one highlights programme on free-to-air channel TV6.

Comprehensive coverage
In addition, remaining live matches, delayed matches and the weekly magazine programme will be available on the Viasat platform in each country. MTG will also deliver comprehensive coverage via the Internet and on mobile networks throughout the region.

Proven track record
The UEFA Champions League media rights for 2009-12 will also include the UEFA Super Cup 2009, 2010 and 2011. "MTG is a world class broadcaster with a proven track record of delivering the UEFA Champions League to fans across Scandinavia," said UEFA. "Consequently, we are delighted to announce this deal which will enable UEFA and MTG to continue our successful relationship for a further three seasons starting in 2009."

Unrivalled access
"The commitment that MTG has made throughout Denmark, Norway and Sweden and the comprehensive coverage on both free-to-air and pay will guarantee that fans in those countries will have unrivalled access to the greatest club football competition on the planet," UEFA added. TEAM Marketing AG is the exclusive marketing agent of UEFA for the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and UEFA Europa League.
