According India's Press Information Bureau (PIB), International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Jacques Rogge told a press conference at the Chattrapati Shivaji Games Village at Balewadi in Pune Thursday that if India conducts the 2010 Commonwealth Games at Delhi successfully, it would be a major step in winning the Olympics in the future.
Rogge praised the infrastructure of the 2008 Commonwealth Youth Games and said that staging the Olympic would involve a difference of scale, which needed to be taken into consideration.
He also said that cricket won't be a part of the 2016 Olympics and that the International Cricket Council (ICC) needed to be a member of the IOC to consider allowing cricket in the Olympics.
