Indian software giant and FIFA World Cup sponsor Satyam sign Soccerex 2008 sponsorship deal

At last year’s Soccerex Joseph S. Blatter (President, FIFA) commented that FIFA were breaking new ground by announcing Satyam as a global partner. Satyam, a leading global consulting and information technology services provider became the first Indian company to sign up as a FIFA World Cup Sponsor. This historic deal provides Satyam with global rights for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa and the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

After securing the position as FIFA’s official IT services provider to the game's ruling body for the next seven years, Satyam have decided to continue their global exposure in the football industry by signing up as a Soccerex 2008 sponsor. Satyam will be the title sponsor for Soccerex’s Media Workshop, one of six sector-specific workshops taking place at the inaugural International Football Club Summit. The Satyam sponsored workshop will consist of a media-focused conference panel tackling the latest broadcasting developments, a keynote address from FIFA & Satyam on Web 2.0 and an exclusive networking break. Speakers include:

As one of the most successful Indian brands Dr. Sridhar Maturi Head of Sports Marketing for Satyam will be sharing his unrivalled knowledge on India’s booming economy and the potential growth in their domestic football industry. He will be speaking on a panel entitled ‘Developing the game from inside and out – the importance of emerging markets’ and join other industry leaders including:

Dr. Sridhar Maturi will be highlighting his company’s role in the grass roots development of the game in India. Satyam recently launched the Satyam Football Challengea, a university level tournament with regional qualifiers & a national knock-out competition culminating in the winning team receiving a lucrative cash prize and tickets to the 2009 FIFA Confederation Cup.

Satyam will be joining other FIFA World Cup sponsors including Castrol, Continental and MTN.
