The 53rd Executive Board Meeting of Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and the 27th OCA General Assembly were held between October 20th and 21st in Bali, Indonesia . At the meeting, Xu Ruisheng, Deputy Mayor of Guangzhou and Executive Deputy Secretary General of the Guangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee (GAGOC), introduced on behalf of GAGOC the latest preparatory work for the 16th Asian Games.
His introduction covered issues concerning the competition organizations, venue construction, information systems, host broadcasting, opening/closing ceremonies, torch relays and promotions. GAGOC's preparatory work was highly appreciated by the OCA. President of the OCA Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah showed his satisfactionwith GAGOC's work in relation to the venue construction, city environment and marketing. He believed that GAGOC's efforts would ensure a pleasant environment and good services for both athletes and officials for the 16th Asian Games which would surely be a big success.
