England are preparing to bid for the World Cup in 2015 but they only have three months to put together a submission. Compliance documents must be lodged with the ICC by the end of this month and a decision on who will host the event will be will be made in July.
England's bid face competition from a joint-venture bid between New Zealand and Australia who are also bidding for the 2011 event.
The ICC met last week and decided to go ahead with the next two World cups and they now want to confirm the venues for the two events and then secure an eight-year television deal to be put out to tender this year and begin in 2007.
ECB staff have been working behind the scenes on their presentation since mid December. Notice of intention to bid had to be submitted by January 21.
England has the most experience in hosting the Cricket World cup having hosted the first three events and then again in 1999. A new deal has been done that would work in favour of England as each country that hosts a World cup receives $10 million. If two countries host the World Cup they both get $10 million.
Asia are planning a four contry bid for the 2011 World cup and if they win then the Australian & NZ bid will transfer to 2015. Since two nations will be jointly bidding against England for 2015 it would make a World cup in England $10 million more profitable.
