BLUE CROCODILE, the north's leading sports agency, has appointed Danny Reuben as its first Head of Media.

Reuben, who hails from Leeds, joins Blue Crocodile having spent six years as Head of Media at Barclays Premier League outfit Bolton Wanderers. More recently, Danny has worked with a number of high-profile clients including former Bolton Wanderers' and Newcastle United manager Sam Allardcye developing Allardyce's media profile and punditry work over the summer and throughout the latest football campaign.

Commenting on the appointment, managing partner of Blue Crocodile, Richard Blakey, said:

"We are delighted to make the appointment of Danny Reuben as Head of Media. Danny brings a wealth of experience from the professional sports sector and understands what we are trying to achieve at Blue Crocodile.

"Having spent all his career in the sports industry, Danny is well respected on the media circuit and has the ability to articulate our plans through effective and creative media relations and PR campaigns."

Reuben, who also held senior roles at Football League club Burnley FC and Super League Champions Leeds Rhinos, added:

"I am delighted to be joining Blue Crocodile at such an early stage in its development.

"Blue Crocodile only started operating earlier this year and already has successfully established themselves as one of the region's leading sports agency with an excellent reputation.

"We have a number of exciting initiatives we will be working on over the months ahead, which will continue to reaffirm our standing in the professional sports sector. I am relishing the prospect of establishing Blue Crocodile into one of the country's leading sports agency."

Blue Crocodile was set-up by former Yorkshire and England cricketer Richard Blakey, who joined forces with Tony Stanton, founder and chief executive of Leeds based marketing agency, An Agency Called England.

The agency combines managing sports stars and events while also developing commercial opportunities for sporting teams and venues.

Blue Crocodile has a number of high-profile cricketers on its books including new Yorkshire captain Anthony McGrath and Yorkshire and England all-rounder Tim Bresnan.

They have also been engaged by Super League club Castleford Tigers to secure a naming rights deal for the Tigers new stadium, which is due to be built in 2010 at a site in Glasshoughton on the outskirts of the town.
