UEFA has awarded ESPN STAR Sports the pay rights for the UEFA Champions League in Malaysia and Brunei between 2009 and 2012 on an exclusive basis.
This announcement follows the recent news that ESPN STAR Sports has also been awarded the English language pay rights for the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League in China.
Live and highlights
In Malaysia and Brunei, the broadcaster will show coverage of two live matches every matchnight on its ESPN and STAR Sports channels as well as further UEFA Champions League programming in the form of highlights, delayed matches and the weekly magazine programme.
In addition, all live matches from the UEFA Champions League will be available on the Internet via www.espnstar.com and on mobile via the ESPN STAR Sports mobile portals - Mobile ESPN and STAR Sports Mobile. The UEFA Champions League media rights for 2009-12 will also include the UEFA Super Cup match in 2009, 2010 and 2011.
UEFA said: "We are delighted to have concluded another deal with ESPN STAR Sports in Asia, and we are confident that they will continue to do a great job of bringing UEFA's premier club football competition to football fans in Malaysia and Brunei."
