Global sports and entertainment company IMG announced the appointment of Jim Tucker as Vice President, U.S. Business Development. Based in New York City, Tucker will report to Tom Worcester, Senior Vice President, Business Development at IMG.
In his new role at IMG, Tucker will be responsible for developing a wide range of new business opportunities and will work with some of the world’s best known companies to create innovative marketing and sponsorship programs.
In making the announcement, Worcester said, "Jim is a welcome new addition to IMG. With more than 10 years of experience in corporate sponsorship and expertise in developing, negotiating and implementing integrated marketing programs for major brands and properties, Jim will help IMG further expand our capabilities and marketing offerings."
Tucker joins IMG from Gillett Evernham Motorsports (GEM), one of NASCAR's premier race team organizations. At GEM, Tucker served as the organization's New York business lead, helping forge new partnerships with U.S. Air Force, Subway, Verizon/Motorola, Cintas and Porter Prescott's Tow Truck in a Box, among others.
Previously, Tucker worked in sales and marketing at NASCAR, where he acted as the sanctioning body's marketing liaison to the teams, presented at team marketing summits, and focused on generating new team and driver sponsorship programs across NASCAR’s national racing series. In 2004, he was recognized as NASCAR's "Newcomer of the Year."
Prior to NASCAR, Tucker worked in the corporate sales and marketing division of the National Football League where he managed the League's official partnerships. Tucker began his career in sports marketing at Integrated Sports International/SFX Sports/Clear Channel. He earned his bachelor’s degree in sports marketing at the University of Connecticut in 1998.
