Indian Olympic Association (IOA) General Secretary Randhir Singh said security was not a problem for the New Delhi 2010 Commonwealth Games following the terrorist attacks last week in Mumbai.

Inside The Games reports Singh said security would be as tight for the Commonwealth Games as it was for the Beijing Games earlier this year. He said, "the Mumbai attacks is a sad incident but as far as Commonwealth Games are concerned, already a high-level security has been planned for the event. There will be no compromise on the security issue as we are bound to provide a tight security during the Games.

"The security will be of the level of what one saw in Beijing Olympics and will see in London in 2012", he said.

Meanwhile Michael Hooper, chief executive of the Commonwealth Games Federation, said last week they were monitoring the situation and did not rule out the possibility of the Games being moved somewhere else, probably Australia, reports Inside The Games.

Singh also said the cricket World Cup, which India is hosting in 2011, is also not under threat.
