IMG, the world's premier sports, entertainment and media company, announced that PGA TOUR professional Paul Azinger has signed with the company for worldwide management and marketing representation.

The 48-year old Azinger has enjoyed a stellar career in golf with 15 professional victories, including the 1993 PGA Championship; almost 300 weeks spent in the top-10 of the Official World Golf Rankings between 1988 and 1994; and the PGA Player of the Year award in 1987. Azinger regained international prominence this summer after captaining the 2008 U.S. Ryder Cup team to its first victory over the European squad since 1999.

"Not only is Paul a tremendous professional golfer with an amazing story to tell, but he is one of the all-time 'good guys' in professional sports," said Clarke Jones, Senior Vice President and Global Director Golf Clients for IMG. "His leadership abilities were on full display at the Ryder Cup this summer, and they obviously played a huge role in the team's victory. Paul brings many of those same qualities to his off-course business partnerships and we look forward to working with him to help manage his opportunities on and off the golf course."

After graduating from Brevard Community College, Azinger attended Florida State University and turned professional in 1981. Following his major championship in 1993, he was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma and wrote a book called 'Zinger' about his battle with the disease. He was awarded the GWAA Ben Hogan Award in 1995, presented to an individual who has continued to be active in golf despite physical handicap or serious illness.
