Sunset+Vine announced that it has been awarded the contract to both produce and distribute the European Badminton Championships, held in the UK in 2009 and 2010, by BADMINTON England.
The European Badminton Championships - which will be held as two separate events (Team and Individual) for the first time - is a valued and welcome addition to Sunset+Vine’s impressive catalogue of prestigious sporting events.
Nina Scales, Head of Sales and Marketing at Sunset+Vine, said: “We are delighted to win the production and distribution contracts for the European Badminton Championships.
"We have built up a global reputation as one of the top sports distribution agencies over the last two and a half decades.
”We have an extensive distribution network with access to over 260 broadcasters worldwide across all media platforms, so we are looking forward to bringing the sport into as many homes as possible.
“The fact that we are also producing the Championships means we can work together to produce and distribute the perfect package under the same roof, which clients find a huge attraction.”
The Sunset+Vine production team has over 20 years experience in covering badminton for television, and Executive Producer Sarsfield Brolly is delighted that he and his team will be working on one of the sport’s crown jewels.
“For the last two decades Sunset+Vine has developed an internationally-renowned team that has produced badminton at the Olympics, World Championships and Sudirman Cup,” he said.
“So we are really excited about adding the European Badminton Championships to our portfolio, and hopefully we can bring what is a fast and furious sport to a new audience, as well as its existing fanbase.”
The European Team Championships, which includes Men’s Singles, Women’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles, will be held at the Echo Arena, Liverpool, from February 10 to 15, 2009.
Around 36 nations will be split into groups of four, before a knockout stage from the quarter-finals onwards.
The European Individual Championships will be held at the Manchester Evening News Arena from April 13-18 in 2010 and offers competitors a chance to compete in one of the most rewarding events in the badminton calendar.
Sunset+Vine International are offering live/recorded coverage of the semi finals and finals.
