The Guangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee (GAGOC) was recently visited by a group of senior offcials and technical delegates from the Asian Sailing Federation (ASAF) and the Asian Canoe Confederation (ACC).

The group included Mr. Chen Chunxin, Chairman of the ASAF's Competition Committee and Technical Delegate for the Sport of Sailing of the 16th Asian Games, Ms. Luo Bing, Technical Delegate for the Sport of Canoe / Kayak Flatwater of the 16th Asian Games, Mr. Xin Qunying, President of the ACC and Vice Director of the Administration Center of Aquatic Sports of the General Administration of Sport of China (GASC), Mr. Ali Ghalamsiah, Secretary General of the ACC, and Ms. Meng Shuxia, Secretary General of the ASAF and an expert at the Administration Center of Aquatic Sports of the GASC.

Accompanied by Li Naizhen, Vice Director of GAGOC's Sports Department, the group took a tour around the Sailing and Canoe / Kayak Flatwater Venue of the Guangzhou Asian Games at the Guangdong International Rowing Center and the Canoe / Kayak Slalom Venue at Migang Village of Zhuliao Town in Baiyun District. After the field inspection, a meeting was held to exchange ideas on the venues' renovations, Games' entry requirements, arrangement for trials, compilation of technical manuals and need for equipment. Chen Chunxin and Luo Bing were very satisfied with preparations for the Sports of Sailing and Canoe / Kayak of the Guangzhou Asian Games and said that they would continue to support GAGOC's work.

By establish relationship of cooperation with the ASAF, ACC and Administration Center of Aquatic Sports of the GASC, GAGOC has laid a solid foundation for future preparations for the two sports.

Representatives of the ASAF, ACC, GAGOC and the Provincial Renovation Team of Guangdong signed a memorandom after the meeting.
