Construction delays and unseasonally wet weather have forced the cancellation of Athletics Australia's Drug Free T&F; Classic, Perth.
Athletics Australia says: "The sprints and jumps meet planned for March 29 in Perth will not go ahead due to unforeseen delays in the constructions of the new and much anticipated facility. After an unusually wet year in Perth, construction is behind schedule and therefore the stadium will not be ready to host the planned competition.
Whilst it is disappointing that we cannot bring a high level meet to Perth in 2009, it is imperative that priority be given to the construction and design of an outstanding facility which will be ready to host major competitions in 2010 and beyond."
