Leading global digital sports specialist Perform has today launched the Omnisport.tv Destination Portal (www.omnisport.tv), the brand new online sports portal featuring official live and on-demand video action from top sporting competitions across the world.

As the home of official live sport on the web, the Omnisport.tv Destination Portal will stream over 4,500 live sport events per year in near TV quality and will feature top football competitions from around the world including the UEFA Cup, World Cup 2010 qualifiers, Hyundai A League, Serie A, Asian Champions League, as well as ATP and WTA tennis, PDC Darts, European Basketball and many more official live sports.

In a first for digital sports rights delivery, Perform will make the Omnisport.tv Destination Portal’s live delivery platform available for global rights holders to exploit their live internet rights in unsold or non-exclusive territories. As a global site, the Omnisport.tv Destination Portal will act as the ‘marketplace’ for rights holders looking to engage and ultimately transact with traditionally difficult to reach niche audiences. Major agencies such as IEC in Sports, Kentaro, Matchroom Sport, MP & Silva, Pitch International, Sportfive, Globo TV Sports, Traffic and World Sports Group will all have selected content on the portal in approved territories.

In addition to an extensive marketing strategy operated by Perform’s in-house digital marketing team, the Omnisport.tv Destination Portal’s live pay-per-view delivery platform will also be promoted by major media groups globally who will help fund local language versions and marketing budgets in return for a share of revenues generated from their user base.

The launch of the Omnisport.tv Destination Portal builds on the success of the Omnisport.tv Daily Bulletin which is distributed across multiple platforms and the Omnisport.tv e-Player which streams on-demand premium sports content to over 5m users monthly, across every major UK publisher’s website.

Oli Slipper, Joint CEO of Perform, said: “There is no doubting the consumer’s appetite for live online sports consumption is growing rapidly. The launch of the Omnisport.tv Destination Portal enables rights holders to generate new revenues and provides fans of sport around the world with premium sports content that in many cases are unavailable through traditional channels. The live delivery platform will enable both rights holders and media partners alike with a direct route to market without the upfront associated costs.”
