London's Mayor Boris Johnson released London's 2012 Summer Olympic Games legacy plans Tuesday which were devised by the London Development Agency (LDA).
Under the "legacy master plan", there will be seven new schools, 10,000 new homes, and the creation of 10,000 new jobs.
The main London 2012 stadium will be used after the Games are over to house a secondary school and stage annual top athletics, organizers said Tuesday. The 80,000-capacity stadium now under construction could cost up to 547 million pounds and will be scaled back to a 25,000-seat venue after the Games.
The post-Games facility will house a secondary school for about 500 students, the National Skills Academy for sports and leisure industries, and the English Institute of Sport.
As for sports competitions, only track and field is planned but football and ruby are a possibility.
Other major new venues - the aquatics centre and velodrome - will be used by schools and local sports clubs.
