Check-in and Check-out procedures shall both be handled within 5 minutes; the first dish shall be served within 15 minutes after guests order dinner… These are some of the hospitality industry service criteria established for the 16th Asian Games and issued recently by the Guangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee (GAGOC) and the Tourism Administration of Guangzhou Municipality. The criteria were jointly formulated and detail the service criteria for the hotels at Asian Games Headquarters, the official hotels and the hotels appointed as tourist reception facilities during the period of the Asian Games.

At present, GAGOC has chosen the Garden Hotel as its headquarters facility and designated the Baiyun Hotel, the Guangdong International Hotel and the Asia International Hotel as the three official hotels and 57 other hotels as the first selection of reception hotels, including the White Swan Hotel and the China Hotel.

The Criteria details all aspects of the standards established for hotel services, including arrangement of the environment, VIP reception, distinguished guest reception, lobby services, guest room services, catering services, meeting services, security guarantees, business services, information search, commodity services, and personnel training.
